Halo-Halo: The Ultimate Filipino Dessert with a Rainbow of Colors and Flavors

A popular dessert made with shaved ice, sweet beans, fruits, jelly, and evaporated milk.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups shaved ice
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup boiled sweet beans
  • 1/2 cup cooked and cubed sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup cooked and cubed plantains
  • 1/2 cup cooked and cubed jackfruit
  • 1/2 cup cooked sago (tapioca pearls)
  • 1/2 cup ripe mango, cubed
  • 1/4 cup nata de coco
  • 1/4 cup kaong
  • 1/4 cup macapuno
  • 1/4 cup pinipig
  • Ube halaya or leche flan for topping (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Place the shaved ice in a tall glass or bowl.
  2. Pour the evaporated milk and condensed milk on top of the ice.
  3. Arrange the sweet beans, sweet potatoes, plantains, jackfruit, sago, mango, nata de coco, kaong, and macapuno on top of the ice and milk mixture.
  4. Top with ube halaya or leche flan, if desired.
  5. Sprinkle pinipig on top.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
